Bartók and French Delicatessen: Altinoglu, Capuçon

О событии

Relish the unexpected as star violinist Renaud Capuçon appears for the first time with the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic, under the baton of Alain Altinoglu.

Betsy Jolas' 'A Little Summer Suite' embodies in music the gentle summer stroll through a changing landscape, with no fixed destination in mind, while Bartók's 'Concerto for Orchestra', composed in exile, makes extensive, and unpredictable, use of the traditional melodies of his Hungarian homeland. Written for Capuçon, Pascal Dusapin's violin concerto Aufgang places soloist and orchestra in close alignment, mirroring and imitating unexpected sonic surprises and inventions.
