New Amsterdam Theatre

Nova Iorque, USA

One of Broadway’s oldest venues, the turn of the century New Amsterdam Theater’s old world charm has made it a New York City Landmark since 1979. The home of the original, legendary 'Ziegfeld Follies', the building also hosted the Roof Garden Theater, where more risqué versions of the Follies were presented, and latterly, rehearsals of classic Broadway hits including 'Camelot', 'Gypsy' and 'My Fair Lady' took place.

Construction of the New Amsterdam’s Beaux‐Arts exterior and Art Nouveau interiors involved a who’s who of creative New York in the 1900s, and both have been carefully preserved. The theater is now Disney’s base in New York, and housed the first Broadway productions of 'The Lion King', 'Mary Poppins' and 'Aladdin'.
