Invitation to the Dance
Sobre o Evento
Music and movement are inseparably linked to one another. In this concert, works by Weber, Schumann and Ravel will lift you off your seat.
Dance as a visual expression of music and as an interplay between people has always served as inspiration for composers. Three composers invite the audience to a "moving" concert: Weber’s "Aufforderung zum Tanz" (Invitation to Dance) – opens the door to a ballroom, Schumann’s violin concerto – the free solo section and Ravel’s homage to the Strauß dynasty "La Valse" provide the Tonkünstler with ample room for a round dance.
Swiss conductor Mario Venzago and Latvian violinist Baiba Skride are the dance masters at this extraordinary concert.
