Jan Smigmator is a young jazz singer whose repertoire includes jazz standards and famous swing evergreens. His vocal style is inspired by Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Ray Charles, Bobby Darin, and the Czech swing king Karel Hála. He studied at the Prague Conservatory with Eva Svobodova and Josef Štágr and sings with the big bands throughout the Czech Republic, as well as with small groups in jazz clubs. Since 2005, he performs with the legendary Vaclav Hybš Orchestra Prague, with more than 50 concerts and performances a year.
