Langrée & Orchestre de Paris: Franck, Mendelssohn & Brahms
O wydarzeniu
Relax and let conductor Louis Langrée and pianists Bertrand Chamayou and Jean‐Frédéric Neuburger take on the Orchestre de Paris with Mendelssohn's Concerto for two pianos.
This concerto is a relic of a genre that disappeared with the coming of the great Romantic concertos, where it was but one lonely soloist 'against' the larger world of the Orchestra.
This symphony by César Franck was composed with a certain French touch. Powerful and stark, it is an interesting synthesis of of styles rather than a pure German symphony.
Added to the mix is Brahms and his Tragic overture.
