MacMillan & Tonkünstler Orchestra, Arnold Schönberg Chor: Music Festival Grafenegg
공연 정보
James MacMillan conducts own works and works by Britten and Vaughan Williams in a truly British programme in Grafenegg.
With a wink, James MacMillan deals with a taste for Whisky, the customs and the folk music of his Scottish home in his piece "Into the Ferment", which he composed for youth and professional orchestra. His religiousness, on the other hand, is reflected in the commissioned work "Credo" for choir and orchestra. Ralph Vaughan Williams’ most famous symphony and Benjamin Britten’s portrayal of the rough sea conclude the journey to the British world of music.
There’s a special feeling in the air when you step through the gates of Grafenegg to plunge into the open atmosphere of this Music Festival. Here is a fascinating combination of past and future, tangible in the contrast between the old castle and the modern open‐air stage, Wolkenturm. On mild summer evenings, performances are in the open; in poor weather, the Auditorium opens its doors.
