앙리 메일하크와 루도빅 할레비가 대본을 쓴 조르주 비제의 오페라는 레퍼토리에서 가장 유명한 작품 중 하나입니다! 총 4막으로 구성된 이 오페라는 피렌체 성공회 교회의 친밀한 분위기에서 피아노와 함께 의상을 입은 네 명의 성악가가 공연합니다.
군인 돈 호세는 아름다운 집시와 사랑에 빠져 카르멘이 감옥에서 탈출하도록 도와줍니다. 그러나 유명한 투우사 에스카미요도 카르멘과 사랑에 빠졌기 때문에 그의 사랑은 그를 어려움에 빠뜨리고 맙니다. 결국 돈 호세는 두 여자와 두 사회 계급, 즉 한쪽에서는 흥미진진한 카르멘과 다른 한쪽에서는 충성스러운 미카엘라 사이에서 갈등하게 됩니다.
총 4막으로 구성된 이 오페라는 피렌체 성공회 교회의 친밀한 분위기에서 피아노와 함께 의상을 입은 4명의 성악가가 공연하며, 모든 막은 영어로 설명됩니다.

This was a great way to see Carmen. The pianist was outstanding as a one man band. Carmen was good but Micaela was better. The lady playing one of Carmen's friends (Frasquita?) was a scene stealer both with her voice but also the way she communicated with her expressions. (That she was gorgeous didn't hurt.) The intimate setting ensured that no one in the small audience could have failed to feel part of the show.
