The Tonkünstler Orchestra invites you to the Danube metropolis Vienna. Under the baton of young rising‐star conductor David Afkham, the renowned opera singer and Lieder specialist Christopher Maltman will give his Grafenegg‐debut in Mahler's 'Songs of a Wayfarer'. Mahler's songs are embedded between two other works by Viennese composers: Webern's late romantic idyll 'In the Summer Wind' and Schubert's magnificent Symphony No. 8.

There’s a special feeling in the air when you step through the gates of Grafenegg to plunge into the open atmosphere of these Summer Concerts. Here is a fascinating combination of past and future, tangible in the contrast between the old castle and the modern open‐air stage, Wolkenturm. On mild summer evenings, performances are in the open; in poor weather, the Auditorium opens its doors.
