An affirmation of the close‐knit relationship between painting, music, and dance, the origins of Signes lie in artist Olivier Debré’s desire to translate into a series of paintings the feeling elicited in him by a smile. Inspired by these flamboyant paintings, Carolyn Carlson sets her dancers in motion to an original score by Réné Aubry.
