Many of Brandenburg's palaces and churches have concrete architectural models beyond the Alps. In the case of the magnificent Friedenskirche, for example, this is the early Christian church of San Clemente in Rome. In keeping with this past, we bring the ultimate Italian flair to Potsdam with summer, sun and a top musical ensemble, the Festival Strings Lucerne. The chamber orchestra, founded in 1956 by Rudolf Baumgartner, is considered one of the best ensembles in the world and is a regular guest in the great concert halls of the metropolises. The Festival Strings Lucerne will bring the young star oboist Cristina Gómez Godoy to Potsdam. As principal oboist of the Staatskapelle Berlin, she is currently one of the most sought‐after instrumentalists in her field.
