Located between Potsdam and Brandenburg, the former Cistercian monastery founded in 1180 by Margrave Otto I of Brandenburg is the oldest in the Mark Brandenburg. The time‐honored brick church calls for special artists for a country outing of the Brandenburg Summer Concerts: the 'Capella de la Torre', one of the top ensembles for Renaissance and Baroque music, lets its award‐winning program 'Byrdland' with music by the English Shakespeare contemporary William Byrd resound between the high pillars of the vault.
