The home of the celebrated Albertoni family for generations was completed by the celebrated architect Girolamo Rainaldi, who, among other celebrated works, was responsible for the completion of Michelangelo's Campidoglio. The oldest parts of the building, known as the Palazetto or 'little palace', are connected to, and surrounded by, the great Palazzo in such a way that visitors do not know which structure they are standing in!
