산 비달 성당
산 비달(산 비탈레)은 캄포 산토 스테파노의 한쪽 끝에 있는 산 마르코의 세스티에르에 위치한 베네치아 콘서트 및 이벤트 홀입니다. 11세기 말 비탈레 팔리에 총독이 자신의 이름을 딴 성인을 기리기 위해 지은 이 건물은 불에 타 16세기에 재건되었습니다. 17세기에 추가 개보수가 필요했고 당시의 스타일로 완성되었습니다. 내부 홀에는 아치형 천장과 17세기에 제작된 펠레그리니와 피아제타의 그림, 비토레 카르파치오의 세밀한 노회가 있습니다. 제단 작품에는 말을 탄 산 비달이 여덟 명의 성인과 함께 그리스도 아이와 함께 성모 마리아가 위에서 지켜보는 모습이 그려져 있어요. 작곡가 발다사레 갈루피는 이곳에 묻혔지만 장례식은 산토 스테파노라는 인근 교회에서 치러졌고 묘비는 찾을 수 없어요.
안토니오 비발디
안토니오 비발디는 기악 콘서트 장르의 창시자이자 오케스트라 음악의 아버지로 역사에 기록되었습니다. 그는 1678년 3월 4일 베니스에서 태어났습니다. 비발디는 천식을 앓고 있는 허약하고 병약한 아이였지만, 음악에 전념하는 것을 막을 수는 없었습니다. 전문 바이올리니스트였던 아버지 조반니 바티스타는 큰아들 안토니오에게 바이올린 연주를 가르쳤습니다. 어린 안토니오는 아버지와 함께 당시 베니스 최고의 음악가들을 만나고 지역 교회에서 연주회를 열었습니다. 또한 바이올린 교사로 일했고 나중에는 고아원 오스페달레 델라 피에타에서 음악 감독으로 일했습니다. 한편 그는 협주곡, 성가곡, 성악곡을 작곡했으며 1713년에는 성스러운 합창 음악으로 큰 명성을 얻었습니다. 비발디는 오페라의 세계에 매료되어 산 안젤로 극장에서 오페라 작곡가이자 임프레사리오로 일했습니다. 1717년에는 마누아 왕궁에서 세속 음악 감독으로 명망 높은 자리를 얻어 1720년경까지 그곳에서 일했습니다. 그 기간 동안 그는 세계적으로 유명한 걸작 사계절을 작곡했습니다. 1730년대에는 그의 음악이 유행에 뒤떨어지고 위대한 작곡가가 가난하게 죽으면서 그의 경력은 점점 줄어들었습니다. 비발디가 죽은 후 망각 속에 묻혀 있던 그의 음악이 재발견되고 재평가되는 데는 2세기가 걸렸습니다. 20세기 초, 이전에는 알려지지 않았던 많은 작품이 발견되어 음악 애호가들의 마음을 사로잡았습니다.

A vibrant and musically fine performance. The ensemble was excellent with the group responding and moving as one. The soloists were very fine players but virtuosity never took over from musicality. Clearly informed baroque performance practice. We have seen the group several times and it is always a joy.
