베로나 아레나에서 무대에 오르는 베르디의 '아이다' 신작(2023)의 장관을 만끽하세요.
고대 이집트는 로마 시대 아레나를 배경으로 현대적 감각을 더하며, 서정적이면서도 극적인 베르디의 장대한 악보가 비극적 결말을 향해 펼쳐집니다.
'아이다'는 주세페 베르디가 작곡하고 안토니오 기슬란초니가 대본을 쓴 4막 오페라입니다.
제1막
이집트의 대제사장 람피스가 라다메스에게 에티오피아와의 전쟁이 불가피해 보인다고 전한다. 라다메스는 자신이 이집트 군대 지휘관으로 선발되길 바라며, 승리와 함께 비밀리에 사랑하는 에티오피아 노예 아이다를 꿈꾼다. 라다메스의 사랑을 받아들이는 아이다는 에티오피아 왕 아모나스로의 딸로, 이집트 포로들에게는 그 신분이 숨겨져 있다.
파라오의 딸 암네리스가 등장한다. 그녀 역시 라다메스를 사랑하지만 아이다가 자신의 경쟁자가 될까 두려워한다. 에티오피아군이 테베로 진군 중이라는 소식에 파라오가 대제사장과 궁중 전체를 거느리고 들어온다. 왕은 전쟁을 선포하고 라다메스를 군대 총사령관으로 임명한다.
홀로 남은 아이다는 아버지, 조국, 그리고 라다메스에 대한 사랑 사이에서 갈등을 겪는다.
라다메스가 총사령관으로 취임한다. 이집트인들은 전사들의 승리와 보호를 기원한다.
제2막
라다메스의 승리를 축하하는 가운데, 암네리스는 라다메스의 사랑을 의심하며 아이다가 그를 사랑한다고 추측한다. 아이다가 방에 들어오자 암네리스는 거짓으로 라다메스가 전투에서 전사했다고 말한다. 충격과 슬픔에 빠진 아이다는 라다메스에 대한 사랑을 고백한다. 암네리스는 분노하며 아이다에게 복수를 맹세한다.
라다메스가 돌아오고 군대는 승리의 행진으로 도시로 들어선다. 파라오는 라다메스가 원하는 것은 무엇이든 허락하겠다고 선언한다. 에티오피아 포로들이 쇠사슬에 묶인 채 무대로 끌려 나오는데, 그중에는 아모나스로 왕도 있다. 아모나스로는 에티오피아 왕이 전투에서 전사했다고 이집트인들에게 선포한다. 포로들은 이집트 왕에게 자비를 간청하지만, 람피스와 이집트 사제들은 포로들의 죽음을 요구한다. 왕이 약속한 보상을 주장하며 라다메스는 포로들을 위한 자비를 간청한다. 왕은 라다메스의 소원을 들어주며, 라다메스가 왕의 후계자가 되어 암네리스와 결혼할 것이라고 선포한다. 에티오피아인들이 패배에 대한 복수를 하지 못하도록 아이다와 아모나스로는 인질로 남게 된다.
제3막
아므네리스와 라다메스의 결혼 전야, 아이다는 이시스 신전 밖에서 라다메스를 기다린다. 아모나스로가 나타나 이집트 군대의 위치를 알아내라고 아이다에게 명령한다. 아이다는 마지못해 동의한다.
아모나스로는 바위 뒤에 숨어 아이다와 라다메스의 대화를 엿듣는다. 라다메스는 아이다와 결혼하겠다고 맹세하고, 아이다는 그와 함께 도망가자고 설득한다. 라다메스는 안전한 경로를 제안하며 자신의 군대 위치를 드러낸다. 아모나스로가 숨어있던 곳에서 나와 정체를 드러낸다. 라다메스는 자신이 무심코 적에게 중요한 군사 기밀을 누설했다는 사실을 깨닫는다.
암네리스와 람피스가 신전을 떠나 제국 근위대를 부른다. 아모나스로가 단도를 뽑자 라다메스가 그를 제압한다. 아모나스로에게 아이다와 함께 도망치라고 명령한 라다메스는 제국 경비대에게 자수하고, 그들은 그를 반역자로 체포한다.
제4막
암네리스가 경비대에게 라다메스를 데려오라고 명령하고, 혐의를 부인하라고 요구하지만 그는 거부한다. 람피스가 혐의를 낭독하고, 라다메스는 자신을 변호하지 않으며 사형 선고를 받는다. 암네리스는 라다메스가 무죄라며 자비를 간청하지만, 그는 산 채로 매장되도록 선고받는다.
라다메스는 어두운 지하 묘실에 갇힌 상태다. 그는 소리를 듣고, 라다메스와 함께 죽기 위해 묘실에 숨어든 아이다를 보게 된다. 그들은 끔찍한 운명을 받아들이고, 이 세상과 그 슬픔에 작별을 고한다. 지하 묘실 위에서 암네리스는 이시스 여신에게 눈물을 흘리며 기도한다. 무대 뒤에서 사제들이 프타 신에게 기도하는 동안, 연인들은 서로의 품에서 숨을 거둔다.

아레나 디 베로나
아레나 디 베로나는 현존하는 로마 원형 극장 중 세 번째로 큰 극장입니다. 서기 30년경에 지어진 아레나는 당시 가장 잘 보존된 원형 극장 중 하나이기도 합니다. 길이 140미터, 폭 100미터의 거대한 규모와 30,000명 이상의 관중을 수용할 수 있는 좌석으로 브라 광장 북쪽을 지배하고 있습니다. 뛰어난 음향과 멋진 위치 덕분에 대규모 오페라 공연을 위한 이상적인 장소입니다. 르네상스 시대에 극장으로 재건되었으며, 1913년 주세페 베르디의 '아이다' 공연으로 아레나 디 베로나의 오페라 전통이 시작되었습니다.
주세페 베르디
주세페 베르디는 이탈리아의 오페라 작곡가입니다. 어릴 때부터 후원자의 도움으로 음악 교육을 받은 그는 곧 이탈리아 오페라를 지배하게 됩니다. 실제로 30대에 이르러서는 클래식계에서 가장 영향력 있는 오페라 작곡가 중 한 명이 되었죠. 그의 가장 유명한 오페라로는 일 트로바토레, 리골레토, 라 트라비아타가 있습니다. 또한 그는 성공적인 오페라로 얻은 수입으로 지주로서 입지를 다지고 사생활에 집중할 수 있었습니다. 하지만 그는 곧 새로운 인기작 <아이다>(1871)와 세 편의 걸작으로 다시 무대로 돌아옵니다: 오텔로, 레퀴엠, 팔스타프.

E’ stata una esperienza unica, emozionante e coinvolgente. La scenografia molto particolare ma con riferimenti all’egitto, innovativa, che ci trasportava in una realtà diversa ma altrettanto emozionante. Il libretto, rispettato fedelmente capì bile coadiuvato da una orchestra perfetta, magnifica così come gli interpreti tutti ed i figuranti: spettacolo incredibile

Es war ein außergewöhnliches und einzigartiges Erlebnis, dass wir nicht vergessen werden. Die Inszenierung war fantastisch, obwohl wir mehr auf die klassischen Darbietungen wert legen! Also Top Aufführung!! Was ich anmerken möchte, dass kurz vor 21:00 Uhr immer noch Publikum um her schwirrte und Plätze suchte. Das fand ich sehr störend. Die Bestuhlung mit vorher gekauften Kissen ist auszuhalten, obwohl alles äußerst eng ist! Etwas mehr Beinfreiheit wäre wünschenswert! Unverständlicherweise gibt es tatsächlich Menschen, die meinen mit Kindern im Alter von ca. 4‐8 Jahren in eine Oper wie Aida gehen zu müssen und dann mit den müden Kindern die Darbietung früher verlassen mussten und das, aufgrund des Metallaufbaus, sehr geräuschvoll und störend war!

The same comment as for Nabucco ! . It is a spectacle but not any more an opera . Anna Netrpko was anounced in the programm but we had an other soprano! Not so good . The tenor was the best ! The other singers not so good . The orchestra also not so good ! I was a little disappointed . Of course I invited my hole family and the youngers appricieted the “spectacle “ .

Amazing 2nd half was better than the first You could follow the storyline The first half was great to watch but hard to follow The biggest problem was the words were 2 small to read properly and should be behind the stage because when you read the words on the side you miss the play We only speak English but it was perfect

Die Umsetzung Aufführung war phantastisch allerdings sind die Sitzgelegenheiten (mit Ausnahme der sehr teuren Sitze im Parkett) eine Zumutung! Schmale, kurze und steil gewinkelte Metallsitze in sehr enger Anordnung zum Vordermann sind für eine Dauer von 3 Stunden einfach nicht zeitgemäß! jeder der größer als 1,50m ist bekommt nach kurzer Zeit Probleme dort zu sitzen. Das schmälert natürlich die Erfahrung des Events ungemein! Wenn man nach 1,5 Stunden nicht mehr weiß wie man sich verlagern soll um halbwegs bequem zu sitzen, nutzt die tolle Inszenierung auf der Bühne nichts. Das Sitzkissen für 6€ hilft da nur minimal.

I was really surprised with all the cenography and special effects this production brought to a classical, upgrading opera to another level. Althought the acoustics of the arena was defying to the singers and orchestra, the visual effects, coreography of the choir surprised me act by act, kepting me breathless. Congratulations on the beautiful performance!
