Liszt, Transcendant: Igor Tchetuev

イベント情報

Prize‐winning pianist, Igor Tchetuev, performs music of Franz Liszt at the Grand Théâtre of Dijon.

To give full reign to his extraordinary technical prowess, at age 26 Liszt composed his Etudes d’execution transcendantes. Indeed, the execution is doubly transcendent: first because it requires a mastery of the instrument that far surpassed what one could hear at that time (and these Etudes remain today among the most difficult works in the repertoire), but also because it requires the pianist to reach constantly beyond these technical limits, not as an end but as a means to attain a more rich and more intense expression, unveiling the colours and the rhythms that would become those of the 20th century.

Igor Tchetuev, winner of the Rubinstein Competition at age 18 in 1998, next offers us the sublime Sonata, a unique work in the Romantic literature by its originality and its inspiration which fully capture the true genius of Liszt.
