Unnamable: Dance

József Nagy's choreography "Unnamable" was premiered in June 2011 and will be performed again by Nagay and co‐star Ann‐Sophie Lanceline at the Cafe Budapest Festival.

This intimate space unfolds between two persons, a woman and a man, between the man and his roots, his homeland, its trees, rivers and people. With drawings and scenes of movement, Nagy’s choreography communicates these feelings. Rehearsals ran with a sense of the proximity of the future audience, and the flickering candlelight that forms part of the stage set creates a particularly refined form. The movements are slow, the figures all but motionless, and there is a palpable tension through the drama experienced, which in a closed space, and the inner space envisioned therein, becomes responsible for a performance of unique beauty.
