Opening Concert of the Gaida Festival

 

The Lithuanian State Symphony Orchestra (LSSO) has been collaborating with the Gaida Festival of contemporary Lithuanian and foreign composers’ music for many years. Every year, the orchestra organises festival’s opening concerts, every one of them an important event in the country’s cultural life. World and Lithuanian premieres of Lithuanian and foreign authors that enrich our cultural life take place. The orchestra was first invited to take part in the festival in 1993. Since then the festival has enriched the orchestra’s repertoire with new scores by S. Reich, M. Gordon, H. Goebbels and F. Zappa among others.
