La Sociedad Filarmónica de Las Palmas is the oldest Philharmonic Society of Spain. It was born in the nineteenth century and over nearly two centuries of existence has been the undisputed pioneer of musical activity and development in Las Palmas. Projects such as the Philharmonic Orchestra of Las Palmas, the Small Orchestra, and the Academy of Music, “later turned into the Conservatory of Music” were born and developed under its tutelage.
