Strings and percussion together respresent melody and rhythm, poetry and fiery temperament. These two are separate poles, and when they meet the result is astounding.

This special union of two different timbres prompted the orchestra musicians to prepare an unusual programme. The performance will include original music for strings and percussion by contemporary composers L. Harrison, Tan Dun and the Lithuanian composer Anatolijus Šenderovas.
