The Palau 100 season boasts the two great orchestras of St. Petersburg: the Mariinski Theatre with Gergiev and the St. Petersburg Philharmonic with Yuri Temirkanov. The latter is the legendary ensemble that, in the hands of Mravinski (then Leningrad Philharmonic), offered, among others, the premiere of seven symphonies by Shostakovich. On this occasion, a Tchaikovsky festival is coming with two of the most beloved works of the universal repertoire.
