For Schubert, the four‐handed piano was essential and in the twilight of his life, he composed the Fantasy in F minor, of an overwhelming depth. It takes an absolute musical understanding to do him justice: this is the case of Philippe Cassard and Cédric Pescia who have in common this racy elegance and poetic modesty so essential in Schubert.
