James Ehnes plays Brahms' Violin Concerto, Sibelius & Wagner at Concertgebouw + Drinks & Bites: Robeco SummerNights

イベント情報

Violinist James Ehnes and the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra will be performing works by Wagner, Brahms and Sibelius at the Royal Concertgebouw in Amsterdam.

James Ehnes has established himself as one of the foremost violinists of his generation. Ehnes, whose playing is called a miracle by Gramophone, still performs the concert regularly. Beauty and excitement, technical ingenuity and beautiful orchestral parts… 'Whatever your mood, this work has it' says Ehnes.

Sibelius

Ehnes will be performing with the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra, which is on a Sibelius cycle this year. Conductor Edward Gardner leads the mysterious, meditative Fifth Symphony, written by the composer for the celebration of his fiftieth birthday. Sibelius' musical sunrise is paired with the 'Vorspiel' from Der fliegende Holländer by Wagner.
