Ibermúsica Presents: The Messiah — Special Christmas Concert

イベント情報

Although only the first third of The Messiah deals with the birth of Jesus (the rest of the work speaks of his death and resurrection), in the 19th century the famous Handel oratory began to be associated with December and the Christmas season. As Laurence Cummings, conductor of the London Handel Orchestra, said: 'There's a lot of good Easter music and very little for Christmas.

The 18th Century Orchestra was founded by Lucy van Dael and a group of friends in 1981. This group formed by musicians from more than twenty different countries, brings together the most outstanding specialists in the repertoire of the eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries who play with instruments from that period. Together with them we will be able to listen to another outstanding and habitual collaborating group with the Orchestra of the XVIII Century, Cappella Amsterdam. Conducted by Daniel Reuss since 1990, the band is known throughout the world for its homogenous sound and extraordinary versatility.
