Ibermúsica Presents: Cadaques Orchestra

Ray Chen, winner of two of the most important violin competitions in the world: Yehudi Menuhin and Queen Elisabeth, redefines the concept of the classical music performer in the 21st century. His way of inspiring and involving the public not only through his concerts but also through social networks has thousands of followers around the world. In addition, his musicality and warm sound contribute to his being one of the most sought‐after violinists of the moment and to his regular appearance with the best orchestras and conductors.

His debut with the Cadaqués Orchestra, which is also his performance in Ibermúsica, will be with one of his fetish works, as it was one of the concerts with which he won the Queen Elisabeth in 2009 and which he recorded as a soloist with orchestra 3 years later: the lyrical Mendelssohn Violin Concerto.

The second course of the evening is not far behind either, as the Latvian State Choir will join forces with the Cadaqués Orchestra and Polish conductor Antoni Wit to perform Beethoven's colossal Symphony No. 9 in the second half.
