Chamber Music Matinee: Schönberg & Brahms

イベント情報

Experience chamber music by Schönberg and Brahms in this matinee in the beautiful Konzerthaus Berlin.

Two of the most beautiful masterpieces of string sextet literature can be heard in this concert: Arnold Schönberg's contribution 'Verklärte Nacht' is one of the earliest examples of a tone poem for chamber music. Schönberg's goal was to combine Wagner's harmonic tonal language with the structural logic of Johannes Brahms. After his first string sextet Opus 18, Brahms composed another work of the genre five years later: Opus 36, which can be heard today.
