イベント情報

Be a part of a tradition that has lasted nearly two centuries already. The BBC Proms return to Dubai's spectacular Opera House, presented by Petroc Trelawney, with an accompanying program of talks, workshops and foyer concerts.

Opening the series, the First Night features a world premiere of a new work by Bushra El–Turk, violinist Karen Gomyo plays Tchaikovsky’s violin concerto, and Ben Gernon conducts excerpts from Prokofiev's 'Romeo & Juliet' at the head of the BBC Symphony Orchestra.

The second concert is a choral spectacular lead by Sofi Jeannin, featuring the acclaimed BBC Singers and choirs from local schools. The program ranges from Duruflé, Poulenc, and Britten to ABBA, Flanders & Swan, and a new piece by Laura Mvula.

Concert Three brings together the massed forces of the BBC, a starry array of soloists, and local talent for the Dubai premiere of Beethoven's immense Ninth Symphony. Nicolas Alstaedt prefaces the Symphony with William Walton's eloquent cello concerto.

A jazzy late night prom infused with the rhythms of South America and Eastern Europe follows, featuring celebrated accordionist Ksenija Sidorova and her Tango Trio.

Closing the Proms season, Richard Farnes leads the BBC Symphony Orchestra, BBC Singers, acclaimed baritone Roderick Williams, Ksenija Sidorova and the Dubai Opera Festival Chorus in a musical celebration. Proms traditions like Elgar’s 'Pomp and Circumstance' and 'Rule, Britannia!'are combined with uplifting music by Bizet, Piazzola, Stanford and Vaughan Wiliams. A fantastic musical party to conclude the series!

The jewel in the crown of Dubai's spectacular Opera District, the magnificent dhow‐shaped Opera House — remniscent of traditional Arabian ships — changes from world‐class theater, to international concert hall, to majestic conference and event center at the flick of a switch. Accommodating up to 2000 people, the theater is the focal point for the arts in the Emirates, attracting internationally‐renowned artists, and one of the city's most prestigious meeting spots, with its roof garden restaurant providing awe‐inspiring views of key sights.
