Hear Beethoven and Mozart played on period instruments. The enfant terrible of the conducting world, Teodor Currentzis, conducts acclaimed period ensemble Musica Aeterna in Beethoven's Seventh Symphony.

Currentzis' style is undeniably an acquired taste, but critics and music lovers alike are enthralled by his ability to find new textures, new undercurrents, in even the most familiar of works. Offering the opportunity to hear old favorites anew in this concert are Mozart's Overture to 'The Marriage of Figaro' and Beethoven's popular Seventh Symphony. Celebrated pianist Alexander Melnikov plays Mozart's Seventeenth Piano Concerto, with its birdsong‐inspired final movement, to complete the program.
