Three string virtuosos of the Konzerthaus Orchestra and a guest pianist will perform works for piano quartet in this chamber music matinee and will delight the audience with works by Mozart, Fauré and Bax.
The piano quartet is always somewhat overshadowed by the string quartet and the piano trio, and overall the number of works is limited and permanent ensembles are rare. Alongside Mozart's piano quartet KV 493 and Gabriel Fauré's first piano quartet, Arnold Bax, an Englishman associated with the Romantic period, can be experienced in a one‐movement work that many listeners may find to be a discovery.
