Benjamin Britten was a devoted pacifist, and his War Requiem is a profound musical and political statement, integrating Wilfred Owen's World War I poetry with the traditional Latin liturgical texts.
The Philharmonischer Chor Berlin, Berliner Singakademie, and the Konzerthausorchester Berlin come together to perform Britten's War Requiem at the Philharmonie Berlin.
The choirs and orchestra will be joined by the Boys Choir of the Staats‐ and Domchor Berlin, led by Achim Zimmermann.
