Ballet Royal de la Nuit: Château de Versailles

Lo spettacolo

Do not miss the chance to witness the revival of a legendary ballet de cour, and travel back to the marvels of Louis XIV's court, with the mythical Ballet Royal de la Nuit directed and choreographed by Francesca Lattuada, under the musical direction of Sébastien Daucé.

Presented for the first time in 1653, the ballet composed by Jean‐Baptiste Lully was a 12 hours long extravagant and monumental court spectacle, featuring fantastical and mythological references to the nocturnal world, with acrobats, dancers and singers, and culminating at the coming of the day with the appearance of fourteen year old Louis XIV as Apollo, the Sun King.
