Thielemann & Staatskapelle Dresden: Music Festival Grafenegg
Az eseményről
The first tour with their new Music Director Christian Thielemann brings the Staatskapelle Dresden to Grafenegg with works by Wagner and Bruckner.
The cooperation between the orchestra rich in tradition and sound specialist Thielemann promises a unique concert experience, featuring works by Anton Bruckner and Richard Wagner. James MacMillan incorporated a reference to Wagner’s «Götterdämmerung» into his string quartet «Etwas zurückhaltend» (2008) which will be played in the Prelude besides Bruckner.
There’s a special feeling in the air when you step through the gates of Grafenegg to plunge into the open atmosphere of this Music Festival. Here is a fascinating combination of past and future, tangible in the contrast between the old castle and the modern open‐air stage, Wolkenturm. On mild summer evenings, performances are in the open; in poor weather, the Auditorium opens its doors.
