Schönbrunner Schlosskapelle

The concerts of the Schönbrunn Palace Orchestra take place in the Schönbrunner Schlosskapelle, which was built in the years 1754 – 1755. Fascinated by its special architecture, the Habsburger emperor frequently organised festivities with a musical program.

At one of these occassions it Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Antonio Sallierie conducted personally in the Orangerie Schönbrunn — a unique competition in music history.
