In Larcher's symphony 'Alle Tage', performed worldwide, the composer explores the universe of the writer Ingeborg Bachmann. In seven movements, the orchestra encompasses the four Bachmann texts, sung by baritone Andrè Schuen, until the music detaches itself from the word. Robert Schumann also sought depth of soul in his Fourth Symphony: a work in which the cheerful always seems melancholic and the sad always carries a smile.
