One of the most successful Broadway musicals of all time, Fiddler on the Roof deals with difficult and sensitive issues in an entertaining and inspired fashion. In a small Ukrainian village a Jewish milkman, Tevje, lives with his wife and five daughters in wretched conditions. Despite all of life's difficulties he has not lost his sense of humour. But when he tries to find husbands for his three eldest daughters in the traditional manner, he discovers that they have decided to find husbands for themselves.
