Streichquartett International: Amaryllis Quartet

Sobre el espectáculo

Explore the quartet canon with this acclaimed ensemble. Presenting Haydn, Brahms and Lutosławski, the Amaryllis Quartet offers a brief survey of the evolution of the form.

Beginnning with Haydn's charming 'Lark' Quartet, the musicians' path then takes a sharp turn, breaking away from Classicism — and indeed, the conventional structures of classical music — to play Witold Lutosławski's String Quartet with its 'controlled aleatorism' or 'controlled chance'. Returning to the more orthodox approach of Brahms, the Quartet concludes with the arch‐Romantic's Third Quartet.
