Relish a recital that combines the best of late Romantic and 20th Century song. The Dutch soprano, a rising star in both opera and song, performs songs by Liszt, Britten, Rachmaninov, Reynaldo Hahn, and Fanny Mendelssohn.

Accompanied by veteran pianist Thom Janssen, Ruiten sings an enchanting combination of familiar and lesser‐known songs. Of particular note are the three Fanny Mendelssohn songs, and Chausson's Chanson perpétuelle, describing in vivid color the suffering of an abandoned woman.
