Cristina Ortiz

Solista

Cristina Ortiz's timeless and natural ability, as one critic put it, to unite musicality and master craftsmanship ensures that she remains a popular choice for promoters and audiences around the world.

A career highlighted by performances – to name but a very few – with the Berlin and Vienna Philharmonics, Chicago Symphony, Philharmonia and Concertgebouw Orchestras, and under conductors such as Vladimir Ashkenazy, Neeme Jarvi, Mariss Jansons, Kurt Masur, Andre Previn and David Zinman.

At the same time she has enjoyed sustained public and critical acclaim for her interpretation of a wealth of the most significant piano literature — from Beethoven to Bernstein; and she has also brought to the public's attention a number of important but lesser known works, including, for example, a recording of solo piano pieces by Clara Schumann made in 1997 for Carlton Classics.
