Dig deeper into Czech music with the quartet that sets the benchmark for performances of Janáček and Smetana in particular. The Škampa Quartet has made a speciality of the music of their countrymen in their 25 years on the world stage.

Both Smetana's 'From my life' and Janáček's 'Kreutzer' Quartets take a cathartic approach, exploring the inward thoughts and struggles of a single character. Pavel Fischer's 'Mad Piper', composed for the quartet's groundbreaking collaboration with Iva Bittová, adds complex folk rhythms and harmonies to the program.
