About the Event
Experience Alban Berg's dramatic opera 'Wozzeck' in a new production by Robert Carsen at the Theater an der Wien.
Berg used Georg Büchner's drama of the same name as inspiration for his opera. In it, he tells the story of the poor soldier Wozzeck who takes part in an experiment and, as a result, is plagued by strange visions which make him kill his lover. While trying to wash off the blood, he drowns in a pond.
