Willem Brons presents Satomi Chihara

About the Event

Immerse yourself in the stunning architecture of Amsterdam's breathtaking De Waalse Kerk for the ultimate concert set to awake your understanding of music.

In the new series 'Willem Brons presents' of the Eusebius Circle Foundation, Willem Brons, the éminence grise among Dutch pianists, introduces the public to successful former students. The series, consisting of three concerts, kicks off with Satomi Chihara. She begins with Bach's 4th Partita in D major, the key for praising God. In the next piece, the Piano Sonata op. 110 in A‐flat major by Beethoven, there is also a reference to faith: according to Willem Brons, the date at the top of the manuscript (December 25) would refer to the birth and life of Christ. Following the intermission are works by Fauré and Franck, in which it is clear to hear that the two composers were also fantastic organists. Excellent for a performance in The Walloon Church!
