Werther: Gran Teatre del Liceu

About the Event

Experience Massenet's "Werther" in Willy Decker's successful expressionist staging at Gran Teatre del Liceu.

Based on Goethe's novel, "The Sorrows of Young Werther", Massenet's opera portrays the romantic anti‐hero as the personification of impossible love. Willy Decker illustrates the emotions within the work using contrasting forms, colors, and light.
