W. A. Mozart Requiem: Piano Concert in St. Michael Church, Vienna

About the Event

Experience classical music like never before in this astonishing performance of masterworks by Mozart at Vienna's remarkable St. Michael Church.

W.A. Mozart's Requiem can be heard in the Michaelerkirche, the place where the Requiem premiered on the occasion of Mozart's own Mass for the Dead on 10 December 1791. The Requiem is one of the best and most moving classical music has to offer. The myths surrounding Mozart's last composition contribute to the incredible attraction of this masterpiece. The Requiem carries within it the strong emotions that come to man in the face of death: Fear, anger, despair, sadness, hope, consolation.

The Michaelerkirche is centrally located next to the Hofburg in the centre of Vienna on one of the most beautiful squares in the city and is one of the oldest and most interesting churches in Vienna. It impresses with its equipment as well as with its breathtaking acoustics, which give the concerts an intimate setting.

The International Choir from Canada has embarked on the long journey from Canada to Vienna to perform the Mozart Requiem in piano version in the Michaelerkirche. The International Choir is a project choir from Ottawa (Canada) that meets for intensive rehearsal weeks to rehearse great works and then performs the works studied in this way.
