About the Event

An overwhelming father gave all his love and attention to his son Karl, the other, Franz, he neglected. Thus the first became a self‐obsessed daredevil, the second a bitter good‐for‐nothing. In this constellation the intrigue of Franz against Karl could become effective: Believing he had fallen from his father's grace, Charles became a robber‐chief. His fiancée Amalia, who grew up like a sister in Maximilian's house, falls victim to the conflicts and rivalries of the men. When Franz' machinations are finally revealed, a happy ending became impossible. The plot inevitably leads to disaster…
