Vivaldi's Juditha Triumphans: Venice Baroque Orchestra at Carnegie Hall
About the Event
Discover the sounds of another age in Vivaldi's dramatic Old Testament oratorio. Andrea Marcon conducts the celebrated Venice Baroque Orchestra and a star‐studded cast in a work written for the female singers of Venice's famed Ospedale della Pietà.
Of Vivaldi's four known Oratorios, this is the only one to have survived to the present day. Marcon has assembled a stellar cast, including the celebrated French contralto Delphine Galou in the title role, as the vengeful and victorious Judith. New York Early Music ensemble TENET completes the cast.
