Verdi's Requiem: Palau de la Música Catalana

About the Event

Gianandrea Noseda leads the choirs of Orfeó Català, the London Symphony, and extraordinary international soloists in Verdi's dramatic, near‐operatic setting of the Requiem Mass.

Written for the death of Alessandro Manzoni, Verdi's Requiem premiered in Milan in 1874. The monumental composition calls for a tremendous ensemble and operatic soloists. The production at Palau de la Música Catalana rises to the challenge with world‐renowned vocalists, including Violeta Urmana and Saimir Pirgu.
