Valentina Diaz‐Frenot: Piano Recital at L'auditori de Barcelona
About the Event
A graduate of Buenos Aires National Music Conservatory where she studied under Roberto Caamaño, Valentina Díaz‐Frénot is a worthy representative of Argentinian piano playing. Among the numerous international awards that she has been given, special mention must be made of the ones she received for her performance of Spanish music at competitions in Jaén and Santa Cruz de Tenerife in Spain, in addition to the Gabriel Fauré Special Award in France for the best performance of work by this French composer at the Marguerite Long International Competition.
She has performed for radio and television and at concert halls in Argentina, Bolivia, Paraguay, Spain, France, Italy, Switzerland, Germany, Yemen, Chile, Nicaragua and Costa Rica. She has played as a soloist with the Buenos Aires National Symphony Orchestra, the Santa Fe Symphony Orchestra, the Teatro Argentino Symphony Orchestra in La Plata, Radio France’s Philharmonic Orchestra, the Baden‐Baden Symphony Orchestra, the Strasbourg Orchestre du Collegium Musicum, the Teatro San Martín’s resident orchestra in Tucumán, and the Asunción Symphony Orchestra.
She has performed under the direction of conductors such as Washington Castro, Simón Blech, Isaac Weinstein, Pedro Ignacio Calderón, Jean‐Pierre Jacquillat, Pierre Dervaux, Giani Rinaldi, Jean Paul Penin, Luis Szarán, Dominique Fanal, Diego Sánchez‐Haase and Jeff Manookian. From 1995 to 2013, she was the director of the Diapasón School of Music.
In recent years, she has given performances in Argentina, Paraguay, Brazil, Heidelberg, Paris, London, Berlin, Brussels, San José in Costa Rica and San Juan in Puerto Rico.
