To Kreutzer: Nicolas Dautricourt and Dana Ciocarlie

About the Event

Nicolas Dautricourt and Dana Ciocarlie face with brio the monumental score of Beethoven's Kreutzer Sonata, in regards to Schumann's Second.

Beethoven's violin Sonata is known for its demanding parts and unusual length. It was not well received at the time of its premiere, and the violinist Rudolphe Kreutzer, to whom the Sonata is dedicated, even refused to perform the work because he found it 'outrageously unintelligible'. The Sonata is nowadays considered as one of the most beautiful in the genre, and the two musicians will offer a profound performance of this highly challenging composition.
