About the Event
Jasmin Toccata throws exciting bridges between the baroque world and that of the Eastern modality, eminently virtuoso program, sometimes spectacular sometimes meditative. In pieces of great Baroque masters or modal compositions of great rhythmic richness, the warm tones of the lute, the theorbo and the harpsichord marry beautifully with those of Persian melodic percussions, the baroque scholarly diminutions echoing the delicate oriental ornamentations. Three virtuosos of high flight dialogue here with a pleasing complicity, giving life to a delightful and sensual toccata, to the fragrances of jasmine, strewn with improvisation and furious rhythms.
