The Queen's Six in Kloster Lehnin

The vocal ensemble The Queen's Six brings a very special sound experience to the Brandenburg Summer Concerts.

Their story sounds like a cliché, but it's exactly the same: founded in 2008 on the occasion of Queen Elizabeth I's 450th coronation anniversary, the six professionally trained singers live as 'Lay Clerks' within the walls of Windsor Castle, Queen Elizabeth II's weekend residence, where they sing the almost daily Evensongs (evening music) and Services (church services) in St. George's Chapel on the royal estate. They regularly play music for the Royal Family — both on private occasions and at state receptions. As recently as May 2018, the ensemble sang live on the BBC for Meghan and Harry's Royal Wedding.
