The Metropolitan Opera: La Cenerentola

About the Event

Relive the classic fairytale at New York's Metropolitan Opera. Acclaimed Irish mezzosoprano Tara Erraught sings 'Cinderella' opposite the reigning 'king of bel canto', tenor Javier Camarena, as her charming Prince.

Rossini's characteristically florid score contains enough vocal fireworks to satisfy the most avid fan of the bel canto style. The Italian master's interpretation of the classic fairytale differs slightly from the standard plot, but the fundamental message of remaining true to oneself, and practising kindness even in adversity remains central.

New York's iconic Metropolitan Opera at Lincoln Center on the Upper West Side is one of the world's most important opera houses. The immense auditorium and unique 'sputnik' light fittings, as well as the roster of star singers, conductors, and directors that grace its stage make it an essential experience for lovers of opera.

Sung in Italian, with surtitles available in English, German, Spanish, Italian
